M199 (Medium 199) originally used in nutritional studies of chicken embryo fibroblasts, it has been widely used in the culture of various animal cells, including some non-mammalian cells. M199 is especially suitable for the culture of untransformed cells, rat pancreatic epithelial cells and mouse lens tissues, also used in virology and vaccine production. Compared with other basic medium, M199 contains unique ingredients, including adenine, adenosine, hypoxanthine, thymine, and other vitamins. There are two kinds of equilibrium salt (earle's salt and hank's salt) in M199. Earle's salt is often used in CO2 environment, hank's salt is used in non-CO2 environment.
Matters Need Attention
1. This product is for research use only.
2. This product is sterilized by 0.1μm filtration.
3. It is necessary to pay attention to the aseptic operation and avoid the contamination during the culture.
4. It is not suitable for long time storage at room temperature.
5. This product is a ready-to-use medium. If there is no special need, don’t add serum, penicillin and streptomycin. It can be used directly.
