The BME medium is based on BSS, adding 8 vitamins and 13 amino acids. The composition is simple and suitable for various cell lines and special studies. It is one of the most commonly used media in cell culture. In addition, BME medium is also the basis of many other media, such as MEM, DMEM, Glasgow's medium are modified on the basis of BME medium.
The BME medium contains many kinds of amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts and other ingredients required for cell culture, but does not contain proteins, lipids or any growth factors. Therefore, the product should be used serum or serum-free additives.
