Product Introduction
Mycoplasma is the smallest and simplest prokaryote found so far, with a diameter of 0.1-0.3 μm. It can easily pass through the filter membrane and enter the cell culture system. It has various forms such as sphere, rod, filamentous and branching. Usually attached to the surface of the cell membrane, there is no cell wall, so ordinary antibiotics have no effect on it. Mycoplasma contamination is widespread and often underestimated in cell cultures. Mycoplasma contamination can cause many problems, such as changes in cell growth rate, cell morphology, chromosome aberrations, cell membrane antigenicity changes, cell metabolism changes, reduced survival rate after cell resuscitation, and so on, which ultimately leads to inaccurate or incorrect experimental results. Therefore, it is of great significance to clean up mycoplasma contamination in cell culture.
Matters Need Attention
1. This product is for research use only.
2. This product is sterilized by 0.1μm filtration.
3. It is necessary to pay attention to the aseptic operation and avoid the contamination during the culture.
4. Store the reagent at -20°C with shading light and avoid repeated freeze-thaw. If the reagent is stored at 2-8°C with shading light, please use it within 2 weeks.
5. Anti-mycoplasma treatment reagent is yellow-green. Long periods of light will cause the reagent to failure. Do not use when the color changes to grayish green or dark brown.

FAQ
What is the reason for the unobvious effect after using the anti-mycoplasma reagent for 2 weeks?
Mycoplasma is the general name of a class of microorganisms, more than one kind. Our mycoplasma removal reagent is applicable in a certain range. So, if the mycoplasma that the customer needs to remove is not within the range of this reagent, the effect will be unobvious. If an improper removal reagent had been used for a long time before, it will lead to mycoplasma tolerance in the environment, which makes mycoplasma more difficult to be removed. In this case, it's suggested to extend the treatment for 1-2 weeks, and then observe the effect. Improper storage may lead to the inactivation of the reagent. The reagent color is yellowish green, when long-termly exposed to light, the color will change and it will be invalid to use. Shading from light is necessary for storage. When the environment is seriously contaminated by mycoplasma, the cells will be contaminated soon again even just after the removal. In this case, it is necessary to control the mycoplasma of the environment before the removal in cells.
